The result was a self-stabilising traction wing that harnesses wind power, providing a reliable backup in case of engine failure.

Phase 1

Preparation

• Position lines (1 metre ahead, 3-4 metres behind).

Phase 2

Adjustment

• Align lines parallel, ensuring proper deck attachment spacing.

• Modify line lengths and positions for direction; use optional friction rings.

• For upwind, reposition aft and downwind; move forward and upwind to bear away.

Phase 3

Retrieval

• Release one line, draw the kite back with the other.

• In light winds, the kite may not touch the water; however, if it does, it will float.
